Sean Scott, an eleven-year-old of Tampa, can call himself a published author.
A poem he wrote in school is featured in Highlights magazine.
The school assignment was to answer the question, what would it be like if it snowed in Florida?
Scott was inspired by his memories of growing up in Washington, D.C. He said he loved playing in the snow, and wrote that “If it snowed in Florida it would be awesome. The first thing I would do is go outside to play.”
“Since it doesn’t snow in Florida we can make sand angels at the beach,” Scott read.
When Scott’s mom came across the poem, she decided to send it to Highlights Magazine. Read more here.
